ABOUT THE ARTIST
- in addiition to being a fine jazz pianist, jo harnell is also a composer of serious music having studied with Aaron copland, leonard bernstein and tibor serly.
jo's work have been heard extensively in concert including performances at carnegie hall,
town hall and at tanglewood.

as in all good jazz there is in jo harnell's treatment of these three melodies, two by tchaikowsky
and one by rachmaninoff, an abundance of humor and liveliness. the emotional span is within narrow limits but highly charged and quick-changing.
